Frosthold 1950 A roguelike trench defense set at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir.

Winter, 1950. It's 30 below on the frozen mountains of North Korea, and the bugles are sounding on the hills. You start with a single M1 Garand: eight rounds, then that famous PING. Hold the trench against wave after wave.

How it plays

  • Tap to shoot, hold to fire full-auto once you get one. The enemy keeps coming, from the front and from the flanks.
  • Between waves, pick support cards and spend supply points: carbines, BARs, machine-gun nests, mortars, airstrikes, Mustang strafing runs, wire, mines, a forward trench and more men.
  • Your soldiers can be wounded and killed. Every man you lose leaves a gap in the line.
  • Ten waves follow the real withdrawal route, from Yudam-ni to the Hungnam evacuation.

Choose your side

  • 🇺🇸 US Marines: fire support, with faster airstrikes and strafing runs.
  • 🇰🇷 ROK (KATUSA): sharper aim and more one-shot kills.
  • 🇬🇧 British Commandos: a tougher line, and close combat in the trench.

Each side has its own hero, a fictional soldier, and a notebook that tells his story through the campaign.

Notes

  • Plays in the browser, on mobile or desktop, in portrait mode. English and Korean are both included.
  • The history follows the real battle. The heroes and the fights in the game are fiction.
